My friend wants to race his Z28 LS1 against this guys 300 zx twin turbo. the LS1 is stock, while the 300 zx has exhaust and intake. Who should win this race? Both are pretty good drivers.

 

i have honestly never seen one run, but from what i have heard they are low 14 sec cars. with his mods they will help a bit, but i give the nod to the ls1

 

LS1 unless the Z has more bolt ons and a boost controller.

 

I am almost stock and I'm supposed to race a twin turbo 300ZX tonight, he has a boost controller and an intake. I'll post up what happens (if it happens, we can never seem to meet up).

i raced one at the track last year he did a 13.5 to my 13.8 it was a good race, i don't know what he had for mods but it was pretty fast.

 

My money is on the ls1

 

Yeah probably an LS1, unless maybe it's the 98 LS1, shouldn't be much different though.

The 300ZX was one of the slower 300 hp turbo imports. Both the Supra and 3000GT/Stealth was faster.

 

I didn't end up racing the 300ZX (girlfriend stuff came up) but my friend with a very similar Z28 (airbox lid and catback but otherwise stock) raced him and he said the 300ZX beat him on the top end. It had a boost controller and was running something like 19 psi. Damn.

 

The 300zx is extremely quick top end. the guy at my muffler shop has a tt300zx and a Z28. Ive rode in both, and that zx is bass *** top end. I know the Ls1/lt1 is highway god, but its not in japan.
