Yesterday afternoon Ihad a chance to go up against a G35. At first I was just making my way thru traffic to get to the front of the front of the pack because a couple of long stretches were up ahead. As I got to the front there it was in the right hand lane so I eased up next to it. Normally when I'm one of the first three cars (3 lane blvd.) I'll give it 3/4 throttle to see who's going with me then it's what ever. This time I let him dictate the action. He punches it and I for some reason don't chase him down right off the bat,but decide to go catch him to let him know it's not that sweet. After catching up with him I stay about 2 car lengths back as we east up to the next set of lights, him to my right and me in the middle lane.
Last chance to open up as I'm turning off in two blocks. He goes hard again and I notice 1 gear is very short and I catch him as I let 1st gear clime to about 4 grand, hit second and let the gear breath and it's over, he's at least 1 1/2 lengths back but as I go to leave no doubt who the better car/driver is I miss third[:@] but it looked like I just shut it down early [&:].
We're both are turning and sit side by side at the light and I tell him nice car, and he complements me back. He says no one has challenged him since he's had the car (had it for a month). I told him I pick and choose when to open up becausefive-o andspeed traps are common on Route 1, he replies yea I got a ticket for doing 120 in a 55[>:].........my reply dude be careful!

 

Are these cars a challenge for a mostly bolt on new edge, or did I catch the driver still learning about his car?
Does any one know what the performance is like for the Infinity G35?

Don't quote me, but I think they're in the vicinity of 265 hp.

 

They're about the same as the Nissan 350Z's.
Low get about low 14's on a 1/4mile. You should be able to beat him with your mods watch out for modded G35's though.

 

the 03-06 g35's are mid 14's for most of the 6spd cars.. The 07 with the 3.5 is suppose to be low 14's stock and the 07/8 with the 3.7(330hp) is suppose to be mid to high 13's. All depends on the driver though.

 

Most of the magazines have the new G37 at around 14 flat. Never see them at the track. Weird cause I usally see 3 or 4 350Zs but never get to watch a G35 race.

 

Most of 'em I've seen have middle aged women driving them.

nice kill. theres a punk i know around here and also went to school with that is driving "his" (mommy's) g35 and made the comment to my girlfriend that he wanted a race. however, ive never seen him in "his" car without mommy in it with him. when i do though, you all will be hearing about it. he has no driving skill at all, which will make it that much better.
