Well..I guess it was in a way...

This morning on the way to work I came down an exit ramp had to slow down for some idiot towing at 30mph in a 65mph zone and when I got enough room to finally exit the merge lane and go around him this black car came floating down a side road and just cruised through the stop sign onto the highway in front of me. I occasionally see some good runs on this stretch so I picked up the pace a bit to see what it was. As I approached it I noticed a C230 badge (Yawn)...but then I spotted 'Kompressor' on the opposite side of the trunk deck. Hmm.. Might be worth it. I floated past (paying close attention to the speed limit [8D]) and watched her in my rearview... nothing. Ah well.

A few miles up I catch a red light and I hop over a lane forcing the C230 next to me. I glanced over and she was in her own little world so I figured I would toy and see if she tried. Light turns green and I just ease off the line and hold first up to ~30mph next to her... she gains a little speed and creeps just ahead so I just go WOT, shift to 2nd and pause, slowly accelerating from there. I look in the side mirror and shes still kind of close and pulling up... so I ease into it more... shes keeping a little pace (no way is she trying it says KOMPRESSOR for crying out loud...) then I finally just bury the pedal and end it.

I was dissapointed AGAIN by yet another MB product...wtf is their problem? I got to work and looked it up quick.... pfft... It was like beating up the neighbor kid for talking trash and finding out hes only 15.. 0-60 on this thing was listed at 8.1 seconds.... 1/4 estimated at 15.9.... *sigh*

 

they are slow cars for the most part. If it was anything like the SL500 or SLK 350 or what have you, you would have had a decent run. the Sl500's are tanks though, they weigh like 4,200 LBS> But, they do havve a nice 300 HP V-8. They move, but you would kill any of those cars. AMG on the other hand.....Not sure. Good kill.

 

For the most part Benzs are slow but I have to admit, I love the way the SL500 drives. The only ones worth racing wear an AMG badge.The SL55, SL600 and SL65 are fast, fast and really fast, respectively.

If you want a good race, look for an E500. That will give you a run for your money.

They look like average family sedans, but they really pack a punch. You gotta shift fast to keep up.
