Only asking because there will be quite a bit of money on it when this goes down.
Why put down money that you can't lose to a race that you are unsure of? Your discussion will end up being a long debated thread in it's self, you could probably make your own.

Stock for Stock, the LS1 would DESTROY an '00 GT.

Even as modded, still have doubts a GT would pull a 75 shot LS1...

ATTENTION! JUST IN! A V8 Mustang is faster than a V6 Mustang! [sm=jawdrop.gif][sm=signs007.gif]

That is almost the dumbest comment ive ever seen. What does stock for stock matter when both cars that are racing are both modified?

[sm=icon_rofl.gif] Couldn't resist.

But, 2000GT4.6's car is farrr from stock. He's blown and I believe cammed, and running somewhere in the low 12 range IIRC.

First Off God kill! And now to this quote above. That is some ignorant sarcastic sh*t. Looks like something I'd type!!! My hat's off to your evilness.[sm=devilgrin.gif][sm=laughat.gif]

100 shot and few bolt-ons you think could drop him by 1.1-1.3 seconds?
Yes,1.1 is possible. He could run 13.1 stock, shave off at least .2 with decent tires, another .1 with a lid, and maybe .8 with a 100 shot if it's employed right from the launch. That car should move out pretty well.

I am suppose to be racing a 6speed camaro myself next week. He is running on DRs, has some sort of cam in it, mufflers, LT headers, the lid..and I think thats it. I am pushing about 390rwhp right now, I will be putting in a full catback system, my chances looking good or not. Only asking because there will be quite a bit of money on it when this goes down.
390 rwhp is quite reasonable for a cammed LS1; this could go either way.

of similar years i assume you mean. compare some 70s mustang v8s with their high 15s and low 16 quarter mile times would fall to a current stock v6.

i know i must be way out of the loop, but where did that saying come from. was it an ignorant v6 owner, or someone bashing one?

i believe he was commenting on the "obvioius" that an ls1 would beat a 2v gt. thus comparing a v8 stang is quicker than the v6

Thanks for the backup.
I think perhaps those guys are repeating a rumor.
350z's are NOT 300HP based on what I've read and experienced.
Dyno results don't show the power that's being touted.
More like 287max HP!
They're evidently being called rev up engines because you gotta tach the crap out of them to achieve the so called 300HP. Not the case with our 4.0 torque monsters! Especially with mods. Even withjust bolt ons.
Anyway, here's a link for you to check out if you want to.
AmericanIcon is right, it's always driver against driver. That's pretty obvious folks ;-).

It's totally possible for a modded 4.0 towhip a Z. I'm living proof of that ;-).
