ran into a later model 00-02 MR2vert (AKA spyder)with a kid and his GF in it on the way back from arbies... at the light he revved at me (I was blaring music lol)and it sounded like a swarm of bees, me being the nice guy I turned it down andasked him what was done to it and he said something about a skunk exhaust and an AM somethingCAI and some HKSunder drive pulleys... I asked him if he wanted to run and he sort of laughed and said "alright" in that snobby tone like I was about to get smoked

I switch off O/D rev her up to 2K and I'm off with my rear bumper at his front through the 60ft and then I just continue to put distance... we took it up to 80 and by that point in time I has a good 1-2 cars with me continueing to put distance

yay for bone stock 3,900lbs lincoln withluggage in the trunk

my question is..... I thought MR2's would be alot faster than that because of their size? does this sound about right?

 

well i was messing one in heavy traffic n he was quick but it was a lil *** rich kid in a vert. i woulda loved to race tho

 

the newer body style like the one you versed arent that quick. they arent anything like the snorkel models that you see everywhere. i went to school with two kids that had the new body style and they were both very disappointed in how little power they had stock but with a good amount of work you can free up some good power just like every car out there. cheers toannice kill for the LS.

 

I think in the mustang performance spectrum my lincoln is faster than a SN95 GT but slower than a new edge GT

I think my car has a 14.7 @ 96-97MPH buried inside of it... I just need to find someone to go to the track with

 

theyre slow, and gay...from what ive seen, theyre high 14 to low 15 second cars...if well driven, my dad had on at his shop a while back...and i took it for a drive..for such a small car, i was very unimpressed.

but really he sounded like he was getting ready to go mach 4 when he mashed itat the line but he was only going... well.. slower than a lincoln... I said it before I'll say it again, I love embarrassing ricers [8D]

although... you would think a turbo kit would be cheap and really effective on something thatlight and powered by a 1.8L

 

They dont need a turbo, they are huge tourq monsters...
