I own a Mazda 6 V6. It's quick, but I think you have the edge in this race. I even took it to the track here to see what it would do in the 1/4-mile. My best was 16.0 at 92. Not bad, and may be even better if the weather wasn't 100+. Mine is the 6-speed auto, I'm not sure if a manual would be faster, but I doubt it, with the exception of having a better launch and being able to slip the clutch.

 

I got owned by a Mazda6pretty bad once. We were both at a stop sign and took off because a lane was about to end. He had me pretty bad, i'd say about 3-4 cars.

I'm pretty sure the 5spd manual v6 Mazda 6's can hit low 15's stock. Your able to rev higher and launch better and cut better 60's which to me helps out alot when racing. I think the Stang will win, but it will be close.

 

I had one of the Mazda speed6's pop up beside me the other night. He was spinning up his little turbo, but we were in traffic. I looked up the specs on that car and it was 280HP/280 rwtq with a 6 speed. If we would have had open road I would have give him some, but it was not safe where we were. I did pull right up on his passanger side and give him a 5K rev from the flowmasters. His little blonde girlfriend was looking right at me when I passed by in another lane. To save him the trouble I stopped off at a fast food joint to pick up a burger; I figued that would be the safest thing to do. Good thing I did because there was a county cop about 10 cars behind us and I did not see him until I pulled in the parking lot. With all of that said.............You should not have any problem beating a Mazda 6; go on and give him some.

 

the speed6 is a decently fast car, the mazdaspeed3 however is the fastest car mazda makes right now (i used to own a mazda 3 until a month ago then i traded it in for the stang)

 

I've heard so much about the Mazdaspeed 3's running very low 14's stock and hitting 13's with a couple of bolt ons. The 2.3 in them is the same 2.3 thats in the Focus ZX4 ST. There are quite a few mods for that motor and I can see one getting into the 12's with around $1500 spent.

 

thats not the same motor in the focus. the one from mazda is made overseas in japan and is only for the mazdas. the stateside Focus' are garbage. the european focus however aint so bad i hear.

 

haha, yeah and if he thinks a clutch is going to give him 300 lbs of torque he's probablya moron too...

 

If its a Mazdaspeed 6, you are going to get smoked.

Low 14's stock and a couple of mods and they can big power.

If it's the mazda 6i then you'll smoke him, if it's the mazda 6s then it will be pretty close.
