If you really want a six I would suggest going for a 95+. That year they started putting in the 3800 and it was a major imporovment. 40 extra HP than the 3.4 and alot more potential too. They are also one of the most realible engines ever made, won 10 best engines of the year award like 3 times.

however if you find one for a decent price I would go with a 1993 Z28. The LT1 is pretty realible and delivers good power & tourq. Its past its prime but has plenty of potential and can still beat most performence cars on the street. As for price, it really depends on the condition of the car & the miles.
So its hard to say.

Why a 94? every camaro from 93-97 had the same body, except some years they didnt have convertibles & painted roofs. And like somone else said, the camaro is a dieing breed right now and people are charging extra sence they are becoming more rare. I think after the 5th gen comes out prices should drop off.
The 93LT1 is known for BHG's.

Agree on the 3.8.

What about a trans am? If i had to have a pre LS f bod the TA would be the only choice. My brother picked one up in a trade, its a 95 lt1 with like 90k on it. Perfect condintion, all in all for like 3k.

I will never own a camaro again! I had so many reliablity issues with the car

I was a 96 Z28 with only 71K on the clock and an auto whichI thought it was in mint condition

The first day i bought it the belt came apart

the oil pan rusted a hole in it within the first week of owning it
fixed that then the rear main seal started leaking

then the radiatorelectric fan motors started to act up like the 210 was coming on not the 180 so it was running really hot

a/c worked for maybe 3 weeks then stopped working

when winter came around the heater decided to stop working

and too top off the last problem that finally said enough was the tranny started slipping with only 76K[:@]

so i went and got my new edge and traded the camaro in later and got $4500 for trade in
and also BTW i had 8 fox bodys before that and none of them ever gave me any major problems

I never had a problem with mine, the only thing that went bad was the battery. LOL

Calling an entire line of cars unreliable becuase you had problems with one is pretty stupid. I could show you countless fords that have had alot worse trouble than that. It doesnt mean all of those cars are bad. It wasent to long ago I was riding shotgun in a ford that had a 4.6 and the block blew. Does this mean every 4.6 is unreliable?

I have never had major problems with any f-body. If you take care of the car, it will take care of you.

^ i never said entire line of cars is unreliable!

I was just saying my 2 cents worth from my expierence and my friends expierence from owning a LT1

Sure any car can be a good car if the owners of its life span have regular maintance on them
