So when i was home i leave i bought my 88 lx. The first day i got it on the road i pulled up into my buddys drive way and his dad washing his new miata. He starts talking smack about v-8s and his power to weight ratio blah blah blah. So we pull out onto the road he gets in theleft lane rollin about 30 and we hit it. I pull hard and i have him by a car and a half and still pulling away by the end of 4th. I let off cause my speedo is wrapped and i just bought this baby. The only thing i had was flowmasters on it. To tell you the truth i thought i was gunna kill the miata but he hung in there. it wasnt supercharged either... first kill for the 5.0! Next time when we i come home i'll have a bunch of parts waiting to be put on and i'll see what it really has at the track and maybe my buddys dad will shut the hell up!

is that a burn in disguise? and i had no idea a miata was a 15 sec car, i thought only the mazdaspeed miata was.

 

How is that a burn?A stock 88 5 literis a15 second car. I had an 86 fox. They are what they are.

 

I didnt see a "burn" involved. All the stats I have seen all say the miata MX-5 is a solid 15 second car. And the 99-05 model would be lucky to run a high 15.

 

i was asking if it was a burn, thats why it was followed by a question mark. i know they are 15 second cars, i had one too.

 

I know my friends is around a 2000 or maybe even older n he can pull 15.6 Its stick and CAI and catback. he always gets me for about 2 seconds from the hole but then i pull hard. Thats only cause hes so light n can launch it alot higher.

 

those rotarys are pretty ingenious, they make **** for torque, but for 2 rotors, they make great power

 

I thought only the RX8 and discontinued RX7's had rotary engines?
