i just bought a 1988 lx 5.0 and my friend has a 2003(i think), my mustang is stock, his wrx he turned his boost up to like 18psi, do you guys think i can take him.

Is your car a 5 speed? I ran my buddies auto '88 LX the other day twice and didn't put but a few cars on him to about 80mph. He only has 3.73's, off-road h pipe, blowmasters, small cam, shift kit, and bumped up timing....I think that's it. I'd bet money his car would run 8's in the 1/8.

If you can drive very well, I think you might at least not embarass yourself. Those cars are so damn light, just take as much crap out of it as possible.

 

it wont be close at all. if he has a boostcontroller, he probably has something else done. get some mods done and give him a run for his money. not literally.
