Hey guys whats the difference between a ACURA TL and a ACURA TL TYPE S? im trying to do research but cant find help! Thanks!

 

From the outside it looks like an extra exhaust tip and some ground effects. They probably are the same car. Ie - corolla and corolla type S

 

TL= 3.2L
TLS=3.5L

The S has about 30 more hp, different wheels,exhaust, slightly different inteior....we are talking about the new tl right?

 

The s only has an extra 16-18 hp. Its all about the name.

 

No the S has 28 more HP, and it is much different then the base TL...it has standard navi, sport seats....much different car.

 

The original rating for the TL was 270, whether or not that was true it seems like a coincidence that the TL power rating dropped about the same time that the type S came out.

 

The rating was at 270, but later it dropped to 258ish thanks to the new SAE rating. Doesn't mean it got slower, the 2004 270 hp TL is just as fast as the 2006 258 TL.

Don't forget there was a Type S for the previous generation. Began at 2002, it was also a 3.2 liter motor, but rated at 260 hp instead of 225 for the regular TL.
