I don't ever go looking for races but if someone challenges me, especiallya turbo rice rocket, I can't deny them. This guy on the highway flies up next to me, slows down, and revs at me. As I glance over first thing I notice is the boost gauge and the sound of his turbo. Thinking to my self this might actually be a decent fight I catch up to him and we have ago:

(1) Started about 70mph, drop it into third, pulled on him pretty decently but the traffic in front stopped our fun

(2)Second time, same thing basically, traffic was in the way.

(3)Third time, both annoyed at the cars in front of, slow down to about 50, give ourselves some room andgo at it again. This time I pulled on him like crazy. More then enough room to switch lanes in front of him to avoid the car in front of me. Think we got up to around 115 and I easily had 2 or 3 cars on him.

All and all was a good time, first real race since I have had this Mustang. Ended with a nod and wave, no hurt feelings, just used gas.

Well considering he had a gauge and he could hear the turbo spool I'd say it's VERY safe to say it wasn't stock (which is faster the 14sec) so it could very well be a big deal. GSTs can be very fast even with the notorious crank walk issue..

 

Anyone turbo carcould have anaftermarket boost gauge and aBOV.

But yeah they can be madefast.

 

True the gauge can just be for looks, however I was assumeing when he said he heard the turbo that it was the whoosh of the turbo sucking in air and not the psst of the blow off valve.. Stock turbos are normally so damn small that they don't make a decent sucking sound no matter how free you have the intake system.. Mine however is crazy loud, I can hear my turbo sucking in air over my ehaust, which is not exactly quiet..

 

Yeah Im just running a CAI right now. Unfortuanetly I don't know a whole bunch about Ecilpse's, so I'm not sure what model it was or anything. I know they aren't the fastest things around but one can assume he decent mods on there.
