Default THIS is why there is safety equipment 56K warning

So I went to the Mustang Day at Ubly Dragway today (my times weren't as quick as I hoped - need to talk with you Boss on the 27th, the car did feel better though).

Imade 2 runs and decided to go get my slips to see how the changes (new LCA"s this morning) affected things - when I heard a "bad sound" and saw a car IN THE AIR over the top of a semi trailer between me and the track. Saw it hit the ground and bounce back up again and do an end over end. The guy had a supercharged Tbird (around 1988 model) - he got sideways, never got out of it according to a person standing there, hit the guard rail, jumped it, then started to go end over end through the grass - he hit within 10 feet of the cars and people watching and luckily flipped back toward the track.
Walked away with a bandaid on his forehead - lucky for him he had a full cage in the car.

Hit and jumped the rail:

Hit the ground front end, back end, etc:

I decided NOT to tell my wife about this one! One of his rear view mirrors came off with such force it hit a car parked back away from the fence.

At least at the track you have fire/ems RIGHT THERE for a 15 second response time, if that. And those wood/metal gaurd rails suck for drag strips, I feel so much safer running on a track with concrete barriers

What was that? Glad my local track has a concrete barrier.
