Has anybody here take on a Charger yet , and if so what kinda of mods did you have. Today this nice flame job came up to me at a stop sign and asked if I wanted to go at it , I asked him what did he have under the hood , he wouldnt answer me other then saying that I will probably smoke him but he just wanted to see how his car would hold up to mine , his buddy in a vette kept the traffic behind us at a distance. I started off slow on 1st because of the traction issues and he was a nose up on me, then I slammed into 2nd and had a little fishtailing going on and I was a nose up, by 3rd I had a nice chirp going on and it was all over by a car and a halfand gave him a thumbs up as I was shutting it down as he was passing me by. Which is why I pose this question about the 425hp on the SRT8 , it seemed pretty quick, has anybody have any stories they want to write about one way or another about Mopar's

Yep the SRT8 with the Hemi 6.1s put out 425 at the crank. They should beat a stock GT but they shouldn't be a problem for Stock Shelby's. GT500s put down about 425 to the wheels stock.

Yep, should be an easy kill for you.

On motor I am pretty dead even with them. I put down just over 300 hp to the wheels but their size kills their performance. Not a bad car at all though for their size.

They are at 425 bhp but way a ton

i've heard rumors of a 475 hp true rating
who knows, its a beastly motor either way

I was very surprised about their quickness , he caught me a little off guard thought, I think the Challenger will have the same motor with a little less weight, which will make it a lot more intresting for the GT's (no offense) guy's. Has anybody take a SRT8 Chargeron yet?

I use to beat them all the time with the old mods I had by about 2 car lengths, now with the s/c its really no contest. They were good races before the s/c though. I was running about 365 h.p. at the motor with the old mods, that with the gears and aluminum driveshaft made it a good race. Their problem is weight.

Rumor is the SRT8 is underrated (look in sig) and I've heard true numbers are around 475 also. And trust me they can actually do almost what the speedo says. 173 mph verified and know people who have hit 175. Every GT that I've personally come across on the highway didn't stand a chance. On a track or curvy roads an SRT8 would do circles around a GT w/o significant performance, brake, and suspension upgrades.

If I had a srt8 Iwould have a intake and exhuast with a150 shot on that 6.1 liter and swap out those 20's with some 18's from the Hemi and a nice drag radial out back and debadge my srt8

The highway is an entirely different race than from a dig... So I think your talking about a different race than jamming gears from 1st. The SRT already has its heavy body moving so its power is more usable at those speeds. Being able to hit 175 and getting to 175 faster is two different stories
