Well, I voted drag racingthough road / rally racing would be more fun, but the likelyhood of me ever doing it is way low

It's easy to make a car go fast in a straight line, much harder to make it fast and turn.

I love road racing! I love rally racing! I love autocrossing! I HATE NASCAR and anything that you only turn left!

I dont hate the guys who work in the pits and drive the cars and stuff, that takes lots of skill. But NASCAR sucks. They've totally taken over Speed Cannel, and took out allthe good shows, i.e, Motor Trend TV, Motorsport Mundial, Test Drive, etc. All they show now is boring NBS reruns, and classic NASCAR stuff. It really ticks me off. Boo NASCAR

Ditto. After Speedvision lost their vision (ie turned into the Speed channel) they were advertising adding 45 additional hours of NASCRAP coverage each week - including coverage of old/historic races and such.

Snore.

Rally is so much more exciting. If you like the sport go out and start working it. www.rally-america.com has listings of all of the events - contact people at the SCCA and have them put you in touch with the appropriate people and get involved. I've been on/off doing stage work (start/stop/road marshall) since about 1993 or 94 and now I'm the pit crew for 1-2 rally teams (sometimes I'm the only crew for both teams). Talk about fun - sometimes there's a 15 minute pit and you've gotta swap brake pads, zip-tie body parts back on, clean air filters, safety-wire the exhaust back on, change tires, and fix leaks where dust is coming in, then run over and fuel up the cars.
(other times it's really boring and all you do is add gas)

I agree, If I had a choice between watching something about nascar or staring at a wall, I would probably choose the wall.

hey i love to race.. the drag strip is the safest place for me to open my car up and to compete.. i would love to road race my car( minus the roll cage and other thing i would need) my stock suspension sucked,, but now with the parts i have, i would love to road race.. the mustang is a great car in curves once you scrap the wheels tires, struts, springs, control arms, etc from the factory and put some good things in..
