i have a friend that ran his new vette with a procharger and stage 2 clutch on it. its a 6 spd of course. it ran a 8.7 @ 84 at best with a 2.3 60'... what should these really run? he says it has 540 hp.

 

That is pathetic. My lightly modded LS1 Camaro would smoke him. Something is not even close to right.
The Procharger should take off at least a full second from his 1/4 mile time, if not more. It should be running at least solid 11s.
I'm assuming from the 60 ft thathe's on regular street tires? Who supercharges their car and doesn't get stickies?[&:]
EDIT: I'm not so great about estimating 1/8 mile times, sorry.

But seriously, he should run mid-11s at 120mph, which would probly be a low 7 at low-90s mph in the 1/8.

 

yea... he is on street tires.. he bought the car like that. it has 5 psi. supposily he is putting a smaller pulley on it for 8-9 psi, getting alki injection, full exhuast, and a rear end with stickies.... maybe he will break 7's then? [&:]


i only ran a 8.2 in my car 2 years ago with bolt on's and the vortech... but that is a lighter car....

he cant drive good at all since he is new at stick... but it only trapped 84!!! something doesnt sound right

 

oh his dads auto vette with full exhuast, zo6 airbox, 3.55 gears, and LS edit ran the exact same time and trap

if he is only on 5#s he isn't making 500+rwhp....he needs at least 8psi. And if he did have 540rwhp the car would be capable of 10s at 130+

 

also a driver mod[sm=gears.gif]....would help...along with some sticky tires

 

his car is not running right or he doesn't know how to press the gas i trapped 86.40 in my slobalt.

 

yea, my car trapped 90... with less power than he claims.



oh............ it dynoed 540 at the crank the previous owner told him.... ?????
