don't most LT1's run in the 14.0 range? I would think that would be a pretty close race with a cobra (slight advantage to the cobra) but I don't see it "spanking" one
My automatic ran 14.1 on a 2.1 60ft... M6 cars are capble of 13.8 ~13.9 with a decent driver.... 4v Cobras are usually right even with M6 Lt1 cars..... Most Cobra owners claim otherwise but several magazine head to head showdowns left the Cobras slightly behind the LT1 SS..... The Cobra with great traction can certainly pull some good times but the LT1 is no slouch...it's far from a blow out.
lets not start that debate 4v vs lt1, plz my bolt on lt1 runs 8.3s in the 8th, with the potential for 8.20s in better weather....so go from there and mine has 170k miles
Your car is like a factory freak or something. I just watched the vids you posted on LS1tech whoopin the crap outta the LS1 T/A and the 97 Cobra. I had already seen the T/A kill on here but wasn't sure if you had posted the vid racing the Cobra. Either way, a stock LT1 and a stock 4v are basically dead even cars. And to the people who say more driving experience will help with the car, it's a 60mph roll, it's not that complicated. It's not like there's a launch to bog or roast the tires off. You honk it off and floor it. He didn't miss any shifts, so that's all that his car is going to do. Had the LT1 been an M6, they probably would've ran side by side every run. Do some runs from a dig when it gets better weather and see what happens. If you win, it probably won't be by too much but I will give the Cobra the advantage due to the LT1 being an auto.
and heres my stand point on lt1s with just bolt ons and gears...very good from 1st gear roll, good from 2nd gear roll, less than great from 3rd
so for example
1st gear 15mph(2800rpms)WOW!!
2nd gear 35 mph(3500)(Sweet!)
3rd gear 55mph(3800rpms)(oh....?)
