Exactly what happened!!

 

not to mention a stage 2 chip on a 1.8L GTI will not net even close to 275WHP.... I raced a 2003 stage 2 GTI with the following mods

- tune @ 23PSI
- CAI
- turbo inlet pipe
- diverter valve (bypass valve)

and he said he produced around 240WHP and my stock lincoln killed him from a stop by about 2-3 car lengths and stayed right next to him from a 40 roll.... so the OP is on crack... nuff said

 

At 16 hesays he hadan 04 GTI, then gets a brand new RX-8 and GT? That is some serious $$$ for somebody that is 19-20 years old.

OK, you are either a troll (highly probable), retarded (also highly probable), really own a new edge V6 and call it a GT (unlikely), or you ran into somebody who made a FI Cobalt appear completely stock and then bothered to keep a limiter at 115 mph (highly unlikely). Pick one. Or the first two. Your choice.

 

I don't know about the 115 mph because of it bieng a 4 cylinder. I had my 4 cylinder pegged at 150+mph. More than likely if he turboed or supercharged it or even nitrous it probably will have some type of engine management that would have taken off any limiter, or so I would think.

 

Thats the thing, the limiter on the lt is exactly 115....thats why I called bs.

 

If anything, car manufacturers set the limiters on cars and trucks because of the speed rating on the tires they equip them with, with exception to the 155 mph limit on german cars and other high horsepower machines.

 

My buddie has a 04 SS and we raced andI beat him but recently he just put in a stage 2 supercharger and now he beats me in the higher gears and rpm.. it sucks

 

Is that a special addition Cobalt or something? Because I dont believe they came out until 05.

 

The GTI you raced and beat, the driver sucked ***** really really bad. One of the guys I used to work with had an 03 or 04 GTI 1.8T and with just exhaust, intake and tune he ran a 9.3 in the 1/8, and after he upped the boost to around 20psi I believe, he ran an 8.8 in the 1/8.
