Default 02 Supercharged GT Vs. Viper

Tonight, I suffered my first defeat and it came against a Dodge Viper. It took place alongside a highway on an access road. According to witnesses, I got beat by about 12 car lengths in a 1/4 mile race. I got off line straight, with little wheel spin and no hop. Auburn Limited Slip Differential Gears with 3:73's, Steeda Adjustible Lower Control Arms, Koni Adjustible yellow shocks, Welded Maximum Motor Sports full length subframe connectors and BFG Drag Radials all working in unison did their thing. My manual shifts on the automatic were percisely hit at 5500 rpms -- aided by a Raptor Shift light. That is the rpm at which, according to DYNO, full power peaks. The Vortech attained it's full 10lbs boost. My Black Stang performed flawlessly. I could feel that she did. The first 60 feet were a dead heat. Then the viper began to slowly draw away and then picked it up at higher RPM. My GTech had me at 4.72 in the 0 to 60 and 12:21 in the quarter at 109 mph. It was one of the fastest times recorded for my Stang. But she was simply overmatched.

I am trying to figure out how much 12 car lengths equals in time? What did that Viper clock?

The little 4.6's can't match the awesome power the Viper engines put out.

12 car lengths doesn't sound like the viper was stock if he beat you that bad. Thats a couple 2 or 3 secs in the 1/4 mile. Awesome time with that car though. Throw some NOS on her and race him again.

12.2@109? Thats some really good traction. I trap 105 at 13.0 with a 1.89 60'.

I would say you raced at least a mid to low 11 sec car and I doubt he was stock, but its only a guess. You still have a nice running stang.

There's really no telling what the car runs without knowing the year. The new ones are like 500 rwhp.

Just remember that if you put in just as much cash as that Viper is worth. You would be the one 12 car lengths ahead. Major props to you tho.

how accurate are those gtech times? i agree with everyone that the viper wasn't stock. but if you have money to buy a viper then you probably have money to mod it. at least you lost to a viper.

Throw some NOS on her and race him again.
Can only install NOS on supercharged 4.6 2V with Steel Forged Internals--4K upgrade. Will consider this summer

Yes, my traction is superior. I have Maximum Motor Sports full length Subframe connectors, Steeda Lower adj control arms, Koni adjustible yellow shocks, Auburn Limited Slip Differential, Ford Motor Craft 3:73's and finally BFG Drag Radials. My traction is excellent and IT SHOULD BE.
