It's a Garrett T03 off of a Laser/Daytona. I am not real sure on specs or anything like that because my dad built the car ~8 years ago or so for a friend of his, and then the guy sold it to him after hitting a deer for very cheap two years ago. I just turned down the boost and drive it during the winter because it is marginally better than the SVO.

Eh, not the smartest, but no *** end slidingwith theFWD, and I might have hit60 mph max.

I rarely run on the street because I preferthe track, but I haven't been to the track since October 13 (college keeps me busy) and had been having withdrawal symptoms.
i feel you there, was it just a cavi or was it a z24? one of my best buds had a black Z24 that he just got rid of to buy a GTO, i can't say it was very fast, but it wasn't slow either
Yeah, the Z24's don't do too bad. My last car was a silver 2000 Z24 with a 5speed. It surprised quite a few people.
Ecotec > Z24.
lol. Not in stock form. My LD9 > 2.2 Ecotec anyday. I do know what the Ecotec motors are capable of though, especially once you add some boost. I've toyed with the idea of getting a S/C'ed '01-'02 LS Sport Cavy. I've found a few for cheap on J-body.org. The '03 and newer body style is gross looking though. The S/C'ed Ecotec's I've found though are only low 15 second cars still. And I don't get it, because I'm pretty darn confident that I could've ran a low 15 in my stock Z24.
Umm No. I dont wanna argue, but I've seen 3 different raees on many different occasions between a stock 2004 Cavalier, an 01 Z24 and an 01 OHV. The 04 won 2 out of 3 and the Z24 won 1. And this was at the track. The fastest stock Ecotec Cavalier I've seen at our 1/8 mile track ran a 9.9, and the Z24 ran a 10.0x and the OHV ran a 10.8. I also seen a bolt on Z24 with header, catback exhaust and intake run a 9.5 and an Ecotec powered Cavalier with intake and exhaust run a 9.6. I used to have an Alero with an Ecotec and I had a header, headerback exhaust and intake and I ran a 10.1 in the 1/8 mile and it was an automatic.

I dunno, I never lost to an Ecotec though, and my Z24 was bone stock. But, that could be that I was a better driver than they were. I even beat a non-S/C Cobalt SS with the 2.4 Ecotec that's rated at170hp. I know that was because he had an auto though. I think my Z24 was some kind of factory freak though or something. It seemed a lot faster than it should've been. Especially with some of the cars that I beat with it.

Your car could have been a factory freak, or you could possibly be a very good driver and know how to drive your car. The fastest I've seen a 2.4 SS run with a manual tranny was like 14.9, but it was only once I believe.

Yeah I know, its crazy. Just like the 200hp RSX-S and the 180hp Celica GTS, many of them have ran in the 14's stock. And the SS has like 30+ more tq than either of these cars.

I had a friend with a Z24 that went 15.3 with CAI and a muffler. Thing was pretty quick...especially considering his 96 GT Manual ran a best of 15.3 stock I would say the little Cavy did fairly well.
