on my way to school, i was makin a right turn and i saw this black cobra starin me downto the left. i decided to let off the gas and wait up for his light to turn green so he could catch up, he was first in line. I hear him getting closer. I checked the rearview and saw the cobra grill coming up beside me. we get stuck at a light with one car ahead of both of us. I checked his ride out some more. it was nice. 03 cobra front and rear bumber, cobra badges but 99 gt spoiler. sigh of relief. Its not a termie. it was a 99-01 cobra in the process of an 03 conversion aparently. light goes green and he starts throwin revs at me. It sounded soo good. Loud but still smooth not raspy. He at least had full exhaust. I returned revs, magnaflow catback isn't as intimidating. we crawl off the line to let the two cars get ahead. i stay in second and return revs and baby launches till he finally jumps me.I smash on second from 40 hopingto catch some of my sweet spot. he initially gains a car on me and switches to my lane then i start to gain on him and just as im bout to tap his bumper i shut it off. i try to get next to him and ask what he has and to say good race. he sticks his massive arm out the window and tilts it side to side as if to say "not bad" or "we are pretty even", semi cocky buta small amount of respect still given. i made a left to my school and he pulled into a shop, probably to get more work done. i had a small weight advantage, no irs, and he was at least 100 lbsheavier then me. He might of had a slight power advantage, full exhaust at least. I dont know if he would've been able to get close enough to tap my bumper if he let me jump him. hopefully ill see him again after christmas! [sm=burnout.gif][sm=burnout.gif]

Well stock for stock, a Mach 1/manual can do a 13.1 and a 99-01 cobra can do a 13.3, so call it a drivers race with the only reason being the weight of the IRS/cobra...otherwise it would be dead even. Glad to see that u won though.

 

he moved over becuase of traffic, but i wished he wooulda moved back so i could conclude a win but since he didnt i cant say i did exactly, santa (gf) is bringing me jlt, and i myself am stuck between gears or better tires? il figure it out, i wanted a tune and all the installs done at stangwerks in CA, but i just have to see what prices he is talking about.
