MIR Test and Tune
My buddies and I went to the track today, I didn't run my car due to no synchros in 3rd and 4th. But my buddy Bill in his 1g AWD and Dan in his Stealth R/T were running. Jerry also tagged along. The day started out good with Dan's R/T running an "off the road" pass of 13.3 @103mph. That would be his only pass due to him laying down oil from a cracked oil return line. Not bad for running right away, full weight, spare, jackets, shoes, sandals, and other miscellaneous items in there.
Bill started out the day where we expected, he ran a 13.5@105. Last week when we were at the track he could only run a 14.1. He fixed 4 boost leaks and almost solved his problem but not quite. So after some quick adjustments on the s-afc he does another run, 14.1 again. He came back saying he couldnt' get gears. But the car was cutting out in 4th. We did some lookign under the hood and found his PCV line was cracked. So Jerry and I wrapped that up with electrical tape and sent him off for another run. He dialed in a 13.00 just hoping for the best but not knowing what she is gonna run. He ended up braking out with a 12.8@101. He stayed in third when he should have shifted (my advice thinkign his 3rd gear was longer). I'm guessing had he shifted he could have gone 12.6 or so.
There was also a blue Mach1 there. Completely stock he was laying down consistent 13.3 passes@106mph. Very very impressive. He ended up braking out in the first round. He had a .038 reaction time but ran a 13.286 on a 13.290 dial in. That was his best run on the day. Needless to say I was quite impressed. I never thought I would see a stock Mach 1 run faster than 13.7. Very very impressed.
