Another CAI/Tune Only S197 in the 12's?

I just installed a CAI/Tune on my Car. Steele has canceled again for tomorrow. No more track days there until March.

Im planning on driving nearly 200 mi to Montgomery Motorsports Park where conditions should be roughly -400' DA.

I have never been there so I dont know what the "Hook" will be like. Im hoping for a very high 12.
That would be roughly 0.3 off my cars times stock (Corrected for conditions). I will let you know how it goes.

If you get a great launch (under 2.0 60') and powershift I would say that you have a good chance of hitting a high 12. I wouldn't trust those corrected numbers though. A lot of times they are corrected a lot lower than they should be. I ran a 13.5 @ 103 with an intake/tune and O/R h-pipe at Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson. The DA was like 5 or 6 thousand because the track was at 3075 ft and it was 90 degrees and humid. The corrected time turned out to be like a 12.6 or 12.7 I can't remember. I know I am no where near mid-12's even under perfect conditions.

the slowest 60' that I have gotten getting a 12 second run was a 1.900. Every other 12 sec run, I had a 1.8x 60'. I'm sure getting a low 1.9x 60' can also lead to a 12 second run depending on how well your car is trapping, I have gotten a few 13.0x with a around a 1.95 60'. good luck.

edit: I weigh 180 lbs so you may have a slight disadvantage, but I have no doubts that you can pull it off.

AmericanSpeed I see you have a good 60' on stock tires. I rember a few years ago,I was getting BS called forsaying I had a best of 1.81 with my stock tires. It's nice to see another forum memeber getting good 60's out of the stock tires.

Thanks man, I get the BS flag all the time with my 1.819 60' time as well as my ETs.

Based on the cars behaviour I expect an improvement in 60' and shift transitions.
It"hits" much harder than it did with the factory Torque Management in place when the clutch is released.
Before I was forced to spin tires / slip clutch to avoid bog.

Thecar has trapped as high as 103.3 mph "nosed over" for the last 30' due to the 6250 rpm limiter.
That would have been 104+ mph without the limiter.

Based on this I expect to 60' 1.900 or better (Given decent track conditions) and trap 106 mph+ in these weather
conditions. We shall see if my driving and the "Mailorder" Tune are up to the challenge,

Fingers crossed and hoping for a 12.....

Now I better get some sleep (Just got back from picking up a 1966 Fairlane Project Car).

As long as you get that 60' time, I see no reason for you not to get that 12 sec run. My tune is also an emailed tune. So what day are you heading over there?

My local tracks don't correct the time slips at all. So I have no clue what my car runs in comparison.
