Default Something to Think about........

I know most drivers on this forum are responsible when it comes to their conduct on the road. Maybe by posting this video it may strike a chord with even one of those that may not be. I dont know the kid and really dont know much about what happened, but its one thing to learn from your mistakes and it takes serious guts to take the time and effort to help others learn from that mistake. Its amazing what taking ONE SECOND to stop and think can accomplish. Heres the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkyRvW1cBB4

And before you come accross saying "stupid srt punk", irresponsibility doesn't care what you drive.

That was very moving. I had seen another video similar to that but in live action and not pictures from another wreck. Don't remember what kind of car. makes me thing twice when driving.

Very sad. But the really sad thing if you go to the SRTforum right now there is a couple videos of a car full ofkids slicing and dicing thru traffic at 150 MPH.When you try to get them to think about their actions they reply. Oh well we're still alive and kickin! But for how long I wonder?

This is quoted from him, from the you tube comment box

"No, it was misting out and the BFGoodrich 3 season KDWs didn't grip at all. I believe I hydroplaned and slammed on my brakes...which is the WORST thing to do! As for JVM, he has every right to say what he/she did. I know what I did was completely stupid and take full responsibilty for the outcome of it. The thing is, I know cars and can handle a car VERY well yet a lot of other teens drive worst than I did...but nothing ever happens to them?!?! Oh well!"

"I was 19 at the time and 22 now...it happened in April of 2005. I was doing about 110 then slowed down to about 75 when the accident occured."

This video is a real warning for teens out there who race occasionally even... (including me)...even proffesionals make mistakes, which increase the chances of less experianced drivers to make a mistake...

Thanks for posting this video

go to 1320video.com thats how the racing in nebraska is done. Racing 160mph+ is stupid anyway. in a race i probably hit 145mph. Past 130 is very unnessary.

It was misting out and he was doing 110? Then slammed on his brakes? Yeah sounds like he can drive real well.

i cant stand people who weave through traffic, that is very dangerous driving.(in reply of BB)

im glad the kid learned from his mistakes, he could have died.

When the roads are wet I don't even exceed the speed limit (no matter what tires I am riding on)...

This wasn't as much a 'driving to fast' issue as it was someone who was careless and make a bad decision. Yes it could happen to any of us but some of us have done stupid stuff and lived because we make slightly better decisions (not as risky) that are still pretty bad. For example I did 171mph on a highway late at night but it wasn't raining/bad out. Sure I could have died/wrecked but the risk was less than doing to same thing on wet roads but in the end it was a stupid decision just not as risky.

Have to pick and choose I guess.
