Good kill. I raced a Boxster, which is basically a poor mans Porsche, and somked his **** bad! His buddy was laughing while the guy was flipping me off. I just pointed and laughed and went about my business.
Yea i've raced a boxster before, but it wasn't really a race. I rode his tail down the highway and when it opened up he tried to lose me but couldnt, lol. They are not as fast as people may think.
If you find out their specs, they only have about 220 horse, similiar torque. They're not made to go fast, really, just look kewl and handle well. ; )

As far as the "12.98 with minimal mods" discussion, I don't know enough about stock '01 GT numbers to say anything. Stock gears, stock headers... I don't really see it, but. What do bone stock GTs run?

I found this dyno sheet on this site, it's a stock 2000 GT 5 spd, this was his baseline dyno run before any mods.
http://www.blayloc.com/stang/dyno-march12.jpg
it's hard to read but peak hp was 225. I have to assume that the 01 GT will put down a # close to that.
So then figure that a cat back will give you 10-12 hp (his car is N/A remember it's not the same as putting a cat back on a FI car)
maybe he will get 2-3 from the intake and tb spacer, and another 2-3 from the CAI. That adds up to 18 hp using the high estamates, again this is not going to put a full weight 01 GT in the 12's especially on street tires. Now if the car was gutted and on a DR I might belive it.
He said before that the timer at the track was messed up and did not give him a trap speed, maybe the ET timer was messed up too?
I am not trying to be a dick here but the story is just to hard to belive. And to say things like E.T. Street are not a legal tire to have on the street ( I have gone to court to prove this) just adds to my doubt of him. I have been doing this stuff for along time and I know what it takes to make cars run, thats why I called BS.
thanks for the dyno info, i didnt know that it was that low stock, as far as the legal tires, i think he was meaning mt slicks. he knows that et STREETS are legal, we talk about getting them on our cars.

Mid 14`s at very best. Posing is one thing. Gross exageration is another. Be real!

little less of this [sm=type.gif]
and a little more of this [sm=gears.gif]

Mickey Thompson may claim that there tires are street legal but they are not. Plus 900rwhp that is alot you are asking of a tire.

This his exact post, again nit trying to be a dick but you should who you are talking to.

So then with the exhaust and cold air mods, he gained a full sec and a half? Let me tell you, my 02 GT, bone stock with 800 miles on the speedo and an automatic tranny did 14.88 in the 1/4 and 0 to 60 in 7.12. Those are real numbers.

I don't need to do more of this [sm=gears.gif] and I still know that he did not run a 12.98 with the mods in his signature.

not gonna argue his times w/ you, but i do know that the first time he brought it to the track, he got 14.4 for his best run, and the next time, he had CAI and a removed front passanger headlight and ran 13.9. i remember because i couldnt ride w/ him, and he had to wear a helmet. so he dropped 1/2 sec on CAI and free mod. all these runs were at the same track.

I think that has a little more to do with his better knowing his car rather than a half second with a CAI and improved airflow.

By the way your talking , I don't think you have any reason not to be honest. Sounds like he really knows how to drive down the strip. A good driver is worth 1/2 sec.
