Mazda 3 vs. my V6

This kid has been bugging me for a race since I got my car, but he has a notorious history of driving like a complete idiot...thinks he owns a racecar. I'm not gonna bite at this one, if I can take my other friend's '07 Civic Si 4 door, I think a little mazda would be toasted.
Just thought you would all be up for a little laugh

my brother has the hatch and I've driven it before. It does have a little pep to it, I'm guessing that's attributed to the rotary engine, but despite the speed it can dish out, there is absolutely no force behind it. It's like driving a go-kart. As far as turbos go, they're fairly hard to find, but he'd probably be bragging if it was one. Oh, and the biggest engine is 2.3L
.
.
Is the 3 the 5 door hatch? If so, the base engine is the mazda 2.3 liter which is about 160HP. The car weighs about 3k pounds so you weigh more. Stang v6 manny tranny would take it, automatic would be a close race if the mazda is a stick
If it's a Speed 3, and he tuned it, CAI, changed the downpipe and axle back he is putting out over 300HP. Without mods, the beast is still at around 270HP.
Downside to the Speed 3 is it's front wheel drive and the computer is programmed to apply power slowly to avoid torque steer. Of course, the computer can be reprogrammed and the front tires go up in smoke. other than Mustang GTs, the speed 3 is the best bang for the buck out there

I can speak here with confidence because I own both an 07 Pony Package, and as of December 1st, a new 08 Mazda 3s.
As a note - the base engine in a Mazda 3 is the 2.0L i4 - in the Mazda 3i.
the 3S comes with the 2.3L.
It's a nice little car, quite a bit of pep... but it's not a mustang.
with my dad driving my stang and me in the Mazda, whcih btw is my fiance's car, he easily pulled away. They aren't bad, nice, sporty (in a tuner way), have a ton of upgrades available including turbos, stainless exhaust... pretty much anything tuner. The electronic manual is kinda fun, but it's slow to responde.
With a good tune, CAI, and a little experience driving the car... they could be close to a stock V6... but stock vs stock the mustang wins hands down, everytime.

I owned a 2004 Mazda 3I. They are pretty quick for what they are. Not to mention, they weigh about 500 lbs. less then a V6. The Sixxer would not beat it by more then 1.5 car lengths. But, will beat it nonetheless.
