4.6 liter piece of **** is why uwon not a lot of torque and 5.0 builds power faster

 

you knowwat yourright never mind ive never liked the 4.6 liter but i whould have to say it is based on whos the better driver

 

I hadtwo '92 GT's anda '98 GT. As much as I loved the 5.0L motors (I even swapped a Ford Racing B-cam with EFI into my '65 fastback), the 4.6 in the '98 GT was my favorite ofthose 'late-model' Mustangs. With the 3.27:1 factor gears, it sure seemed to be the quickest of the three. Without a doubt, it was the smoothest and got the best mileage. Either way, I certainly wouldn't call it a piece of ****. oh yeah my 98 gt was sweet, and as far as engines go i cant bash the 4.6 because it was a very smooth running well balanced engine and gave great mileage also. Has anyone ever hada chance the 98 up police interceptor crown vic??? they haul a$$ no wonder they went with ford for the cop cars. heres a pic of my yellow 98. SOrry for the bad quality hope it works.

get your information straight, 87-93 v8s made 225 hp. 94-95 they toned it down to 215, then in 96-98 they bumped it back up to 225.

i love my 5.0 but ive seen some of the 4.6's and there supposedly a much better engine, but i always hear abou them blowing head gaskets, dont kno y

Well, you didn't hit the nail on the head either.
[ul][*]85-93 5.0 HO's were rated as high as 225HP, and as low as 200 or 205 HP.[*]94/95 5.0 HO's were rated at 215HP.[*]96/97 NPI 4.6's were rated at 215HP[*]98 NPI 4.6's were rated at 225HP.[/ul]
I think thats about right, correct me if I am wrong, but the point is5.0 HO's and NPI 4.6's do make about the same power.

Also, don't bet your life on HP ratings. 5.0 Cobars don't make 235-240 BHP and LS1's dont make 305-325 BHP.LT1's,03/04 Cobra'sand Mach 1'sare under rated, slighty, as well. Then you got a handful of imports who are over rated.[:'(]
