There is thi guy at my job who has a 06 Dodge pickup with the hemi engine. He has been bragging about how he hasn't lost a race. Yesterday he said that he wanted to race my 03 GT. He had some work done to the engine and it sounds really mean. On my car I have an intake spacer, K&N CAI, o/r h-pipe and flowmaster catback exhuast. To make a long story short we raced and it wasn't even close. I creamed him.

The Hemi pick ups perform very well for what they are. But they are obviously not a match for a Stang..

 

nice!!! i shut my wifes dad up not to long ago about his 06 ram 1500 "hemi". he wouldnt shut up for the longest time about that pile, so i lined him up one day and ruined his world. now he wont shut up about "i'll run that thing over with the hemi if your not careful..." maybe i need to shoot him... just kidding, wouldn't do it, just a cyber space tough guy here... lol

He would take an R/T out even if both were stock.

R/Ts are 14 second cars, SRTs are like GTOs 12's/low 13's, and you boys are in the middle. I'd assume longtubes, cai, and a tune and you'd crack 300rwhp.

 

Not that it matters but what truckconfiguration does he have (1500, 2500, 2wd, 4wd, quad cab, mega cab)? I have a reg cab 2wd 07 hemi ram and it's ok for what it is, most of it's power is up top which kinda sucks for a truck...i'd rather have more of the torque down low for towinglike the Titan's 5.6L. I haven't had it down the1/4 yet (doubt I ever will)but i'm guessing it'll be low-mid 15's @ 85-89...so unless it's decently modded even a stock new edge will walk pretty hard.

Speaking of which...have you guys seen this vid of a stock 2wd RCSB new tundra 5.7running 14.2 @ 97? http://youtube.com/watch?v=KrRlDCIZDvsHe has a vid up of a 13.9 & 98ish that is "mostly stock"....now those trucks you stock new edges need to watch out for.

Seriously though, the Hemi trucks are ok, used to beat on them in my Diesel all the time especially the Daytona and Rumblebee ones. I think they're neck and neck with the Titans in terms of performance. What's really annoying are the Hemi stickers over the back window and all over the tail gate.

I'm not surprised he was so sure he could beat a Mustang GT, Hemi and Titan owners constantly tell of beating on Mustang GTs, he probably believed all the hype his buddy's were saying on the Internat.

 

Yeah, you're right. My dad seems to think our new Chrysler Aspen with the 5.7 Hemi would take my car. lol. I think my 2000 Cavy Z24 would've taken the Aspen. The thing's a boat.
