I was on the highway today and was trying to get home in a hurry after work. There was a pickup truck infront of me in the passing lane and noone in the slow lane and he was the last vehicle for about 1/2 a mile or better. I am kinda nudging him a bit so he will get into the slow lane so i dont have to be a dick and pass him on the right. AsI am nudging himI see a car coming up from atlease a 1/4 mile back and he must have been doing 80 or faster to get up to where we were. I didn't reconize the front end of the car, Icould tellit was an import with a carbon hood but that was about it. He was going to attempt a flyby by getting a good running start if ya ask me, so when he was about an 1/8 mile back i put my blinker on and slowly pulled into the right lane to block the fly by he rode my butt as i passed the truck on my left... then I got into the left lane and he went for it, I got on it to. i walked him pretty good, when we went from about 60 his front bumper was at my rear bumper and when i hit the brakes at about 100mph he was about 4 to 5 lengths back. I pulled into the right lane and was qurious as to what the car was...as he went by me i saw it was an Acura rsx with another red colored letter after or kinda ontop of the "x" on the tag.Are they supposed to be a fast car ? It sure looked like it was fastfrom a distance but maybe thats all it was ?? Anyone know ?

I can just see it on his forums. Some dumba** mustang pulled out in front of me when i was trying to rush my wife/son to the hospital.

 

Probably a Type S. I think they're good for a mid-high 14. Not really sure. I may be a little generous with that guess.

 

It was an RSX Type-S. 200hp, 6sp, good for high 14's w/ the right driver. Modded they can be real quick, though....

 

I always wanted one of those when they first came out. I remember the "Black Magic" so you could run a turbo.

That's one example. There were a few others running the same time or slower.

I'm willing to bet he was pretty highly modified to be running that close to you. I think the carbon fiber hood is a dead giveaway. If it's a expensive car, and it's got a carbon fiber hood, usually it's modded nicely. If it's a cheap import with the hood, usually they have nothing but an intake. That's not fact, just what I've come to realize after dealing with tons of different imports.

 

When you hear someone say they stopped the fly-by it doesn't mean they got in theon coming carslane and created a rolling roadblock. Maybe he just wanted to get around you and the slow *** truck and didn't want to tailgait you both.

 

Same thing I was thinking. I hate the ***** bags who think I'm trying race them when I'm going over the speed limit trying not to be late for work.

 

Also, I doubt he was highly modified if he was 5 leangths back. A mid 13 second car against a high 14 second car sounds about right with about 5 or so lengths. that would be the results for about or close to stock if I'm not mistaken. As always, I could be wrong. Turbo them and crank the boost. From what I've been hearing they are good for about 450whp on pump gas.

 

Well technically if a faster vehicle is approaching from the rear you are supposed to merge right to allow him the right of way.
The fact that he didnt choose to use the left lane the OP correctly vacated for him in no way implicates the OP in an improper action.

Now the fact that the truck failed to yield the right of way and they both chose to make an improper (and in most states illegal) pass on the right is a different matter.
