the contenders:

me= 03 cobra vert all stock

seth=00gt vert 5speed w/ CAI,catted x-pipe and borla mufflers,short throw shifter, 100 shot of happy gas, tune, tb and plenum, 3.73's, 93octane

robert= 02gt hardtop 5speed w/ lt, o/r xpipe and magnaflow mufflers, stage 2 heads ported and polished, stage 2 cams, stage 3 clutch, short throw shifter, 3.90, tb and plenum, CAI, custom tune, 100 octane, GT fuel pumps, etc

Benson= 01 SS 6speed, w/ flowmaster mufflers, and CAI

"everyone had z rated street tires except for robert who had drag radials"

well it turned out to be a good night; good weather and all... the temp was 55degrees with relatively no humidity. the winner of the competion was robert me second and seth and benson were a few hundreds off maybe one tenth from each other we all had 4 runs with 30 to 45 mins between each race and close to 1/4 tank of gas

all in all i thought i did pretty good from doing a 1/4 mile run "legeally"

 

im surprised that seth didnt do better...

 

12.9 in a bone stock cobra vert is a very good time. Congrats!

 

benson is a better driver than seth...and seth would always real in benson but benson always got him from the line cuz he would feather the trottle and seth would just dump it

 

Wow! Great time and trap. Is this the norm for a stock cobra? Also, what happened on your first run to trap 5mph slower? That's a pretty big difference from 110!

i trapped 114mph bone stock. and avarage of 112-113mph all day long. they were advertised 111mph trap. so yeah it is normal for a stock cobra to trap that high.

 

If anything 110 is a bit low. he he....

 

yeah a hard top cobra has the ability to drive 12.5-12.6 @115 all day and maybe as low as 12.3 but it all depends on the driver so that makes or breaks the performance of the car. and the vert being around 100-150lbs heavier i would say the car could do 12.7... then again w/ a perfect driver like ranger. ask doodad he seems to be the best w/ the cobras but its always the driver ya know

well it was my first time driving my car at the strip so i was worried about missin a gear and wheel hop and really to be honest i was nervous so i "took it easy" the first run then got my confidence built up hopefully i will get in the 12.8's maybe break 12.7's but dreaming is the best part lol

 

Nice driving that 1.9 on street tires is something to take pride in.[sm=smiley20.gif]
