Default LS1 power

this is from my local F-body board, Local guy.
He has an 01 Formula, lid, free mods, 3600 stall, suspension mods and doing his own tuning. He has no internal mods at all.
Run #4:
Locked up the converter at about 4300 RPM, added 2* timing

Tires: 22 PSI
Air Bags: 10 PSI left, 16 PSI right
Shocks: 1 (loose)

60' - 1.728
1/8 - 7.811 @ 88.14 MPH
1000 - 10.217
1/4 - 12.256 @ 110.48 MPH

I'm pretty happy with the results. Better weather and tuning should bring 11s this year without any problems. I just switched over to a speed density tune, which is in the very early stages. I also couldn't log any runs due to a low battery in the computer. The next step is to do some wideband tuning on the street and then to the dyno.

you forgot to add what tires he was using and what suspention parts.. it's not unbelivable at all. The 60 foot speeks for itself. he needs to hit a 1.6 to hit 11's probably. I don't see the tune getting him there. you can tell by his MPH that he is getting down the track hard in the first 100 feet. He doesn't have a ton of high end, he just gets off the line really well.

oops missed that, but still for no internal mods and can run side-by side with a certain force induced, pullied car.

actualy given his mods I'm kinda surpised that he is not doing better. I also give him another 5 runs before his gears explode.. The gears, stall and tires are enough for mid 12's. The rest of the bolt ons are good for the rest.

He is not fast enough to be having trouble with his gears, Auto's can go high 10's for awhile before they they have that problem. M6's on the other hand with the help of some sticky tires can break rear ends in stock trim.

Neither his tranny or his rear is going to hold up to 10's... even if he still had his stock 3.23's they would die. It's not how fast you go. It's how hard you hit. The stock rear could run 9's. but anything under a 1.7 60 foot and it's a ticking time bomb. Considering the weak auto it will be a craps shoot on which one blows up first

DUDE, there are sooo many ppl runing 10's on stock rears. some go, some don't. A friend of mine is running a 427 6L block on a stock 3.23 rear, running 10.98 n/a, 10.2's on the juice, on ET Streets with an Auto. Chris is exactly right. Autos are very easy-going on the rearend.
