A guy i work with wants to race me in his 06 saturn ion, which is like a cobalt SS i guess. He says he has a CAI w/ tune, exhaust and pulley. He wants to race me, I don't have a problem with that but he wont race me from a dig, he will only go from a roll.

Is there anything i should be worried about? I dont know **** about these cars, i know they are pretty quick stock.

 

It's probably a mid 13 second car with those mods. IWHINE should be along shortly to give a better answer. But I'd be willing to bet it'll give you a better run than you'd expect. Tell em roll racin is gay. At least go from a dig & roll. I'd put a few bucks on the stang in a close race if I was betting on this race.

 

I wouldn't race from a dig if I was him either. They don't even catch traction for sh*t when they're stock. I would imagine that it's going to be a pretty good run between you two though.

 

i dont think so. i saw a lightly modded one run 14.9 at the track.

 

That's because they're harder than hell to launch and that guy just can't drive. Or, you saw a lightly moded non-S/C one with the 2.4.

 

You probably saw a crappy driver with a 2.7 short time spinning all the way thru second. A roll race is just shifting gears so driver error shouldn't rear it's ugly head.

I think you will smoke him. -even if he has some mods.. do they add up to 100 more hp?

 

Actually, the Redlines and S/C Cobalts usually dyno around 210 or a little higher at the wheels. Just another one of GM's massivelyunderrated hp numbers.

 

I think you will take him because your cars stock capibility is what his car is currently capable of...

 

he got a decent launched. didnt spin too much, and it was a redline with a sc.
