who would win?
Theroetically, in this lineup, who would you give the advantage to?
1st
1966 Chevelle SS BBC(454, bored to 460, crane cams valvetrain and cam(secret specs), forged crank, rods, and pistons, 11.5:1 compression, ported and polished L72 427 heads, edelbrock intake with twin 600cfm 4 barrels. electric fuel pump, aluminum rad, electric fans...the usual. ), 4 speed, 3.73 gears, 3700 lbs w/o driver 450ish BHP
2nd
Terminator Cobra Stock, Short throw, aftermarket intercooler, 2.93 pully, and a tune, (415ish BHP?) 3665 lbs w/o driver possible 4.10 gears

Two beast cars.
I'd guess the cobra. I don't know jack about the true muscle cars, and shouldn't the BHP numbers be wheel horsepower numbers? The Cobra should make more than 415 at the wheels with those mods. About how much would the SS make at the wheels?

I don't know, but that Chevelle is sick as hell. A true bad *** hot-rod.
Either way two serious cars how should't be ashamed if they lost.
Twin 600 carbs!!! [sm=badbadbad.gif] When the secondaries open-up, does the air filter try to collapse? lol

Best guess the Cobra.
If you had given me the same desription with Team G Intake, TH400, 9" 4500 Stall, 4.56 and 28" Slicks I would have been worried as that describes many 10 second cars Ive seen.
10's can certainly be run with a 4-Speed and 3.73's but that intake would likely keep the car in the 11's.
Add in the tires and it just screams high 12 second showcar.

Well, 1,200cfm is WAY more carb than that 454 prolly needs. That's about half of what a 500cid Pro Stock engine uses. I imagine at 11.5:1 it doesn't get out much, the cost of fuel these days and all.

I have seen Iron Head Big Blocks that run just fine on 93 octane with 11.5:1 compression. They wouldnt have fallen out of a tree on 9.0:1 compression. No where near enough cylinder pressure.
I'd give you guys that cam specs, but they only people that know them are the last owner, his builder, and my dad. But it does run on 93, with some timing yanked it only knocks every now and then at low RPM under heavy load.
and 67mustang- 12mpg highway!
do you guys think the race would be any closer if i could get the cobra on street tires? pops can launch it good(better then i can at this point), but i doubt he can get a better 60' then something on dr's
