Default DIY C4 info

Does anyone have any websites/ book names or something that shows how to re-build/upgrade a C4. Im finally able to start on my new turbo project in my spare86 stang and im wanting to run an auto. But i need to rebuild the old stocker C4 i got laying around. Any info would be great.

Or if you just know some basic upgrades for the tranny. That would help to. Im pretty new to auto's. I rebuilt my T5 about 3 times so im pretty sure i can do the auto, but i need some info or a manual or something to help with assembly/dissassembly.

Im going to be running a stock engine basically maybe with ported E7's and a upgraded cam. Blow through setup with a MP T70. Wanting about 500whp. Just to see abouthow fast it will go before the block breaks.

Thanks ~Mattie

Don't know if it would have any info on rebuilding the C4, but Chilton's is always a good place to start at least.. You're lucky though, I wish I could my own work on my car, just don't have the room or the tools.. [:@]

lol. i dont got the room either...or the time really. Working 3rd 6 days a week, 12 hour days makes for a nice paycheck, but sh*tty personal life.

Im actually now going with a TH400 after reading up on the C4, ive decided that the Turbo 400 is just a better base start with. It had ALOT of room to grow into vs. the C4. In the future im planning on upping to a 351W based engine and a S400 turbo.

Anybody got any comments/info on doing the TH400 swap? I know ill need to make a crossmember, get a new bellhousing, and modify my driveshaft.

But any info is always helpfull.

If you're going to the TH-400 vs. the C-4 you might need a new slip-yoke for the tranny too, I"m not positive on that.. also I'd check out whether or not you're going to need a new throw-out bearing.. Not positive on those though, so don't quote me.. LOL
