As I was leaving the base today for lunch I noticed that there was a RT/10 Viper about 1/4 mile ahead of me on the freeway. I made my way through traffic over the next few miles to get even with him to see if we could have a quick run. Well, the traffic on the freeway didn't permit so I just gave him a thumbs up and got over to the slow lane in front of him. I exited to go to my house and was paying little attention to what the Viper was doing. Well...he ender up taking the same exit as me and we hit a red light at the end of the off ramp .

He put his car up to about 4000 RPM waiting for the green light so I knew he was game. My runfalts won't let me launch hard but I gave it a shot anyways. When the light turned green he jumped out by about 1 1/4 on me (I smoked em) and I had to play catch up the whole time. By the time we shut down at 115-120 he had about 1/2 of a car on me. The guy ended up living in the same development as me and he followed me to my house and we BSed all through lunch. Needless to say....I'm ****ing starving now.lol

All in all it was a fun run. I think if I had a nice set of tires I could have taken him. Oh well, can’t win them all.

Oh...He had full exhaust a CAI and a tune. Exact same as me. I forgot to ask him what year it was though.

I forgot to ask I'll find a picture on the net...I dont know a lot about Vipers.

 

Good race. The newest viper can trap in the 125 to 128 range so I couldn't see you catching up from a roll. The 2002 or earlier models would be a little easier to catch but still pretty quick.

Na, it was not that new. If I had to guess I would say 96-98. Somewhere int hat range.

I would still put my money on a C6. Not because of who isfaster or whatever, but because I've always heard Vipers were a bitch to plant. Seems like the C6are more consistent and easier to handle.

OP, I'd skip lunch anyday to race a Viper with a C6. Good run, sounds like the top end was in your favor and the launch too if you didn't have those run-flats.

 

lol...prolly a little worse when the road is cold. I spin pretty damn bad going into 2nd and 3rd too, not just off the launch.
