2005 GT vs. Infinity G35
I see the same car alot on my way to work. There is a stop light with two lane on-ramp to highway and we happened to be the first cars one morning. You know we were both watching the light. I got the jump on him but he pulled away from me at around 40 mph and I gave up the fight. He slowed down and gave me the thumbs up and I see him every now and then but haven't pushed for a rematch. I had 3.55 gears then and now I have 4.10's. Would it make a difference?
He was probably modded, G35's are almost the same as my 350Z when it comes to performance. They both have the VQ35DE engine which has about 287 crank HP.
Good for high 13's - low 14's. Were you stock when you raced him?
4.10's help if you race the full 1/4mile, IMO not so much during short streetraces.
Next time you come up against him, don't give up.

No, just a Steeda CAI/93 Brenspeed tune and short throw shifter. Roush springs and Koni adj. dampers. I know my vert is a bit heavy, and I keep the tank pretty full. He had an automatic, and I know I didn't push it past 5,000 rpms.
I had a '70 Nova with a 327 years ago and I could smoke any stock Camaro. But that was on a closed strip. It was an auto and all I had to do it put it to the floor. I need some practice time at the track with my 5-speed. I trip to NE dragway this summer.

Agreed - driver mod FTL. Practice that street launch and shift fast.

Suggest you take it to 6K rpm the next time you race.

With the Brenspeed 93 octane tune, you can probably take it up to 6200-6400rpm, just don't hit the rev limiter. I think Brenspeed sets it at 6800rpm.
