I doubt it, unless the B16 motor makes 160+ hp.

depends on what the b16 is in. b16's are 160hp at the fly and ~130whp stock. they can be quick in a hatchback civic. i had a b18 (integra gsr 170hp) in civic hatch with just intake and exhaust and i ran 14.3 with street tires. but a b16 in it's stock body 99-00 runs mid 15's. that crx you are talking about probably sucked at driving or it wasn't running right.

Most of them do. In stock form, they are 160hp.

Anyways,a few boltons and tune, and they can be quick little cars. Pretty much any B16 Honda is gonna give a stock 5.0 a hell of a run, if not beat it. They're def not something to be underestimated when you're driving a mid-high 14 sec car....

A stripped out EF/EG with a B16 and bolt ons could beat a stock 5.0(especially SN95). Stock 5.0s aren't fast at all, god forbid if it's an automatic at that(no chance). Now a 99/00 Si(came stock with a B16) will have a much harder time with one since they weigh more. All depends how stripped out the Civic is and how many bolt ons. Stock SN95 5.0 5spd is a good race for a 06+ Si and those are a bit faster than a stock B16 swap.
