Dodge Chargers

A stock 01 GT vs a Stock Charger R/T is a hell of a race. The Charger is usually a tad faster in the 1/4 mile, and then once the Hemi gets moving it would probably walk away from a 01 GT. The Charger is rated at about 80hp higher, not 100.

2000GT hit the nail on the head here. If you were to take a factory stock 2001 282 c.i. Mustang GT 5-speed back in time to 1969 and run 13.9 @ 100 with it, people would freak; even more so with a 2005 version. My 346 c.i. Chevy with a slushbox, whisper-quiet muffler, and 2.73 gears running 13.5 @ 105 would make their heads explode. Sometimes people look back at that era with rose-colored glasses, but numbers don't lie. My dad used to tell me about how back in the day if you could hit 100 in the 1/4, you had a real street bruiser.
