was on the highway coming home from work w/ my little brother tonight and I c a white 97?? cobra dont kno exactly what year it looked like caspersGT body style....anyway we were both goin about 60mph both downshifted I waited for him to get the jump....3'd gear I pull a little bit then I shift into 4th and lay down the carlengths I'm not kidding u when I say he was about 3-4 cars back from me...we get a light and I ask him what he gots done and he says ....exhaust ,heads chip and a few more things but I could really understand him b/c he had an accent...so we go from the light it turned green while we were still talking he noticed the light first and took off so I nailed it w/ him being 1 car ahead b/c he noticed the light first...by the time I hit second I start pulling on him my nose is at his door but then I miss 3'd! so I dont bother trying to recover it....a ways up on the highway we go from a 60mph role again w/ the same outcome me being ahead by about 3 cars...he came up gave the thumbs up and took the next street off...

how much hp do those year cobras have??..and w/ his mods what hp do u think he's putting out?

 

My dad has a 97 Cobra ( I put a pic at the bottom after my reply ) They have 305 at the crank and dyno around 270ish. If he had those mods you would have been in the dust. Also he should have been in 2nd when you were in 3rd. How would you do against a 05 GT... Because my dads Cobra put a little more than a half car on a 05 GT. But i wasnt in 2nd when i was on the highway either. I still had time to Downshift... But even in 3rd at low RPM's i still did pretty good. I love the power bands of the DOHC engines too. They make me happy in my pants good race though...

I've never had a run w/ an 05 yet but have been hunting for an 05 ever since they came out to c how I would fair against one....it was weird tho b/c he seemed to have a better low end then me when we went off the light and I seemed to have a much stronger topend...so ur saying tho at 60-65mph he should have been in second??? cuz damn those must b really looong gears
