Nice kill. Topend is where the LT1 is lacking. My old WS-6 used to hit a wall at 110~....
I concur. It seems like, whenever I hit 4th gear, the car gets considerably slower. I think I could easily get to 135, or so. But, I don't think I'd try 150. It take too long and plusit really feels bad, now that much clutch is basically f*cked. The whole car starts shaking if I go WOT through 4th gear. Actually, it shakes at any rpm above 3k, if the clutch is engaged.

FWIW the only Z cars I've seen that really shine in the top end have been 07+ cars...the fiancees 96 Z28 auto with 2.73s used to drag an 03 350Z here pretty bad from roll ons...
FWIW, I honestly don't see how. The '07+ cars have a much stronger topend, but the older cars aren't massively slower. Equal drivers, they should still be able to pull a stock LT1. W/ the exception of an auto Z maybe, or if the LT1 car was ram-air....

Ram air doesn't make a bit of difference. You get like, an extra 1 hp at 100mph. That's on LS1's though. I could see how it'd make a bigger difference on LT1's. But, not significantly bigger.

I wasn't talking about LS1 cars. Just the LT1 cars. The ram-air models, SS and WS-6, unlike the LS1 versions, were actually up on power and were quicker.....

Get your car fixed before you try any top end runs...my bone stock automatic passed the 150 mark on the speedo and creep a little bit more before she was done.... 135 is CAKE... with your mods if your car couldn't hit 150 I would suspect your OPTI or something else ignition related to be in need of replacement.

1996 = LT1

I know what a typical (pre 07) 350Z traps in the 1/4... they are not trapping any better than a stock LT1 car...if they somehow get way faster above the 100mph mark I would love to see proof because everything I've ever seen says otherwise.

OPTI was replaced about 3k miles ago. So, I doubt that's the problem. I do need a tune up though (plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, exhaust leak). Plus, I think I've got an ignition problem. The car doesn't like to start right away, if it hasn't been driven within the past half hour. I have to crank it longer and usually it won't start until the 2nd time I try. My guess, is clogged fuel filter causing fuel to not get to the engine quick enough to start. I always let the fuel pump get done priming before I even try to start it. But, even then, I have to try a 2nd time before it'll start. There's something not right though. My buddy's '04 GT with just CAI, TB Spacer, and catback was able to beat the Skittle that got by me at around 90. He said the Skittle couldn't even get by him at 130. With my mods, I should be quicker than that GT, so I don't know what the heck the problem is. Unless he has mods that he doesn't know about yet. It did take us a while to find out that his '99 Cobra was cammed.

I know that they're up on power. But, not really all that much. It wouldn't give them much better of a topend, though.

Nice runs, good read. I didnt really know those z's were "all that" stock. I did get my **** totally handed to me by one, with 20's, but thats not saying too much

I must'of missed some info, what all is happening with your integra??
A thrust bearing went out, not sure how, and destroyed my block and crank, not to mention messed up my oil pump and turbo. This happend near the end of last year. Anyhow, it's bieng rebuilt as of monday. The entire build won't be done untill probably mid june, which sucks because I haven't driven an FI car in so long. I miss hearing the BOV, and the whine of the turbo and all the other cool noises associatted with fast cars. I'm pretty much going to go all out this time (well, at least for me). I thought about sleeving the block, but decided against it only because with the compression I'll be running I won't really want to go over 430-450 on pump gas and I have no intention of using race gas, and the stockers are good to about 450whp. Maybe a few years down the road when it's time to rebuild again I'll use lower compression pistons and sleeve it and see what it can make on pump. Anyhow, I'm going to run LS/Vtec which is good because I'll have the lowend grunt of the LS motor with the high flowing head and high revving capabiltity of the vtec head, and I'll be bulding the head with supertech valves springs retainers, P&P, and valve job. I'll be doing cams at a later date. I'm in the process of either buying a Garret 60-1 or a gt35r. Not sure right now. After this is all done I plan on doing a couple more suspension mods and then I'm done for a while. I hope. I'm hoping to be somewhere in the 11's when this is all over with, but I'm going to have to work on my driver mod, as I haven't even driven a FWD car in about 6 months.
