was on my way home from work today when i seena eclipse GST pulling from a light in my direction. The driver look very familar when i got beside him,,, it was this guy that always talks about how fast his 350hp eclispe GST at the local gym were i occasionly play some ball.... well we get at about a 40 roll,, i dropped it into 2nd(auto) and we both punched it one good time. i put a car on him really quick ahahahaha,, me and my brother were in the car laughing our butts off lol... we went thru a light and went at it again and i put a car on him even faster this time. we were cruisin side by side and he was saying somethin,,, and i was like(you can quote me on this one) "HUH, i cant hear you,, my V8 is too loud!" hahaha,,we took off again thru a curve and and we yet again, stomped him. We were laugh so loud we bout crashed and if i wouldnt have been beatin him so bad, we might a took him off the road...(DONT STREET RACE)we pulled off to a gas station and he said his car was overheating,, everytime i race a GST or WRX, they always say that,I wonder why....

 

Nice kill. I dont believe his car was pushing 350hp, it was probably stock. My friend has an Eclipse GST with exhaust, intake and its been tuned and he can beat me rather soundly in my 01 GT (auto).

 

figure that if he was making 350hp, he has almost 100 more hp than you, in a car that weighs under 3000lbs...from a roll, he would pound you...especially since hes FWD.i would have to agree that if you beat him at all, he had to have been stock, or not be able to drive...

a modded GST should make very very short work of your auto new edge, unless you have mods that you arent mentioning...like forced induction.

however, there are far too many people driving them who believe that their intake and exhaust gave them 100hp...so they go around telling people how fast their car is, and they make dumbass excuses when they get crushed...his car only had 200-210hp stock (depending on the year), and it would take some actual work to reach his numbers...

then again, perhaps he was honest and it was overheating, and it usually does make that kind of power...but if so, he should ask for another race, because he should beat you. you should make him race you from a dig..on a nice legal track...then he can make sure that his cooling system is up to par..

 

Nice kill. I'm assuming it is a 95-99 GST? The stock turbos on those are a turd. If he didn't upgrade that, a bolt on New Edge will almost always win. Now if he went with a 14b (stock 1g turbo) or larger, then you start to have some fun on your hands. Was he complaining about overheating coolant, or heatsoaking his intercooler? The stock intercoolers on those cars are something to laugh at and heatsoak very easily. That could have been what he was complaining about. Especially if he was dumb enough to put a bigger turbo on without upgrading his intercooler.

 

even if his IC was heatsoaked (which i think is a lame *** excuse anyways...the cars are usually in the same weather when racing), if he had any real work done, he should destroy an auto new edge.

 

No one said it wasn't a lame excuse. But what does weather have to do with a intercooler heatsoaking? It could be 30 degrees outside and if your intercooler is too small, you will heat that thing up quicker then ****. Once it's overheated, it's not lowering your charge temps anymore. Real work on a T25 car, he's not going to destroy a auto new edge with bolt ons. He's going to need a better turbo.
