Default Lost to sti

Going down the hwy on the way to martial arts I had a charcoalSTI fly up behind and plant himself on my hind end. As I cleared traffic he pulls up beside me and slows down. Well, there was a long clear stretch in front of us........I couldn't resist. We go from about 50 to 90 and he pulled about 3/4 of a length on me. This thing was badged and said special edition with some letters and numbers below. Looking on the web it looks like it was the limited edition with only 800 produced......no wing, big scoop, I think an 07. The only reason I felt really bad was the giant sticker on the side window......yes, I got beat by the "turbo mafia"

I love the limited editions, but they are a bit slowerthan the regular STI's due to the added weight. I'm guessing he had at least a stage 1 flash. Did you notice a big exhaust tip?

Yep, it did have the big tip.....I was wondering what was done to it, and can't remember the letters and numbers below the special edition lettering.

A catback and a tune makes a big difference in the STI, especially in the upper gears. Even when I just did a stage 1 flash, it made 4th, 5th and 6th pull much better.

I am clueless as to the numbering on the back.

Good run, STis are quick as hell up to about 100 MPH.

Bone stock, they really lose steam up past 85 or so. The Cobb tune takes care of that to an extent. It doesn't make it a highway roll monster, but it sure helps a bit.

Maybe the edition where Subaru "de-ricered" the car? I read aboutthose somewhere, they took off the huge wing amid a few other things and made it a more "grown up" car, and they were limited edition.

Yes, it had no wing, and from what I have googled it looked like on of the 07 limiteds, which they produced only 800 units. I talked to one of the guys at the local Kum & Go where the ricers hang out and he only knew that the guy had modded it, but didn't know what had been done. It was the dang sticker that killed me though "turbo with a big pic of one and mafia below"
