Quick run in with an 02 Z06
I was cruising into work today and an older model Z06 pulled up next to me at a light. When the light turned i casually took off. He didn't get on it right away either but I kept it in second to entice a little run. As our engines roared we both hit the gas at the same time. I pulledtil he was at my back bumper and letoff at about 65 or a quick shift into third.He got behind me and pulled into the parkinglot of my work and asked what the heck i had in it and told methat it pulls pretty hard. I told him my mods and he told me his was an02 Z06but didn't mention if it was stock or not.I told him whenI saw the badges i was pretty sure i'd get raped sinceI lost so bad to a C6 z06. We both gave mutual props for our rides on he left with a little chirp of the tires.
Does anyone know what kind of power they put out??

He probably had headers/exhaust/CAI and a tune. Vettes don't weigh all that much, so you gotta compensate for that too,(Although I'm not 100% sure of their exactcurb weight). Those mods I listed should have him pretty close to putting his crank HP to the wheels, making it a close race if your around 430rwhp.

The Z06 probably was stock.
If a C5 Z06 puts anywhere close to the hp it's rated at to the wheels, it would be good for high 11s. Even though the his stang had more power, the gearing andweight (3200lbs) of the Z06 would help it out quite a bit.
