Default race soon

Ok everybody I need to get some info. I have been challenged to a race (since I spanked my cousins '92 nissan sentra se-r w/ over $3000 in mods). I have been challenged by a guy w/ a Toyota MR2 that is factory supercharged. His best time at the strip was a 15 flat, after he floated his tires to about 20 psi; other than that the car is stock. I would like some info on what I can do to maybe tune out a few more horses. I am also planning on doing a cold air kit before the race. The race is set for May 4 at Alamo raceway in Marion Tx. I have a '92 LX 5.0 convertible. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I know.... I just want to make damn sure that i beat this guy. My cousins SE-R ran a 15.3 and I can beat him by about 2+ car lengths. I also just ordered my K&N Cold Air Kit, will be in in the morning.

Well if you can drive it, a 92 5.0 can get into 14s stock.

there is a guy around here with a 9x mr2. stock he ran 14.5@95. now with MBC, and exhaust he is running 13.9@101.
i always thought they were FWD. well i was wrong, RWD and midengine. he says he pulls 60's like AWD cars. i believe he said his was turbo, not S/C.
gl running him

Ok Toyota lesson in the works.... Early MR2's had S/C they were serious turds. I owned one. First time i drove it i was blowing through a turn and let off the throttle like a moron and was doing 360s like there was no tomorrow. lol. Never let off the throttle...

The later MR2's had the turbo in them. Pretty nasty if you mod them. But other wise its stock 5.0 material. You shouldnt have a single problem with this guy.... Also why are you racing imports? Step up to the big boys like T/A's, Vette's, other 5.0's, 4.6's, Z28's.....

Stop playing around with those silly kids and their imports.

well this guy has a 91 mr2 turbo, fo sho!
casper i hope that is not the way u always think, there are many imports that will walk all over you.
if u were referring to the sentra with mods, i understand what u are saying
try not to take this the wrong way

i know there are imports out there that can own. all i want to do is make sure that i dont get owned, in fact i dont want to be close to losing at all really. i would like to win by a half second if not more.

just an update too: this evening i tuned my throttlebody and put on a huge K&N air filter (the one that resembles a small trash can) after doing that this evening my throttle response feels like i am driving a different car. i am planning on advancing the timing a lil bit still.
