. Seriously, what would it take to get a Trans Am to hit 11.5? My guess is good driver mod, full exhaust, drag radials, lid, throttle body, gears, and heads or intake or cam? It's at least afew grand in mods though right?

yeah- no info on what you're drivin, we cant help.... And from the looks of it you're either (A)young (B) just trying to sound cool (C) have no idea what you're talking about or (D) all of the above.....
As for the 11sec range.... i have a 5.0 with a decent amount of wrenchtime in it, and about a1/2yrs salary (for a military guy-which i am).... in the end i didn't keep rec'pts but we guessed around $9,500 beforetweaks and tuning which was about another $500-$1k.... and from yr to yr i throw about $300-$500 in my car just to keep it up (not including the 3 tranny's i've gone through). Also i've broken it about 4 times- 2x's it cost me in the $1k range..... Gotta pay to play... And my car isn't even a 11.5 car, it went11.72-- w/ a 5spd.
All i have to say--- you may of bit off more than you can swallow buddy.

Well since you shot down the engine swap idea.. which in all honesty is more trouble than its worth in most cars these days, we'll not mention it. You're pretty much screwed as things stand right now. You'd have to buy thousands of dollars worth of performance goodies as well as find time to either install those parts on your own if your a good mechanic or find someone to install them for you which will cost you even more money. So an engine swap will cost you almost as much in the long run haha. And we don't even know what motor you have in your car to make such a recommendation. There are big differences between the 5.0, 4.6 2v, 4.6 3v, and I'll assume you don't have a cobra. So we cannot make any suggestions to you at this point in time other than a big shot of nitrous or some kind of blower.

I don't want to sound like a total moron here, but let me venture into my own realm.
11's in a New Edge:
Full exhuast (LT's,mid,catback)
4.10's
MT's on 15" rears
U/L control arms, fox springs up front, (am i missing a component?)
390-400 rwhp via blower & supporting/required modifications
1.6-1.7 60' time
In theory, could that set up and 60' net a 11.9X?
I'm in NO way saying that's easy, or that it's going to happen everytime, or easier/cheaper than LS1, or etc....(do you get the point..lol) But is it possible?

even then.. wouldn't be fast enough to beat the trans am claiming 11.5.. I believe he has an s197 GT.. i read some of his other posts.. in which case.. I think with a big shot of n20 and LTs and driveshaft and gears and cams and cmcv and UDPS and LCAs and slickshe might be able to beat the transam.. for under 5,000.. atleast on the track..
