A stock E46 M3 VS a stock S197 GT is NOT a drivers race.
The M3 should have him from a dig as well as from a roll. Personal experience...though i do have an Auto and 20" rims, i was absolutely slaughtered by a M3 Competition Package.

They're easy to drive and from the timeslips i've seen online, they're consistent bottom 13 cars.
I almost bought a pre-owned M3 instead of my GT. But i went with the GT at the last moment.

With the OPs mods it's definitely possible to beat an stock a stock E46 M3. And besides that, I would say it is definitely a drivers race because the S197 is about 3-400 lbs. lighter than an M3.

2005 bmw m3= -Weights: curb weight (lbs) 3,781

I looked it up.

My 2005 S197 is 3456lbs. w/o me in it.

There seems to be a very big difference betweenwhat we found, I think I'm gonna have to find one and look at
the door sticker.

I got one (2005)by about 3-5 cars in a 1/4.

3781 is for the convertible. 3415 is the universaly accepted figure for the M3 coupe.

Stock for stock, all things being equal, an E46 M3 should beat an S197 GT in a 1/4 race. In reality, I'd definitely call it a driver's race, but I have a liberal definition of "driver's race". With the OP'd mods, I have to agree that he would have the upper hand, especially from a dig.
