2-4-1 easy CHEVY kills!
coming home from work about an hour ago, i was almost to my house, when i saw this 90-93 chevy I-Roc.
i dont know much about them, but i know there pretty close to the 5.0s.
when i drive home from work, i drive real real slow, most ppl do 10-15mph over the speed limit, but i just stay the speed limit, because i try to get decent gas mileage.
well this guy passed me doing about 10mph more then me, and slowed down a little bit, on my right was a 2000-2005 chevy impalla had been eye balling my car, but he had his "gangster lean" going on, and i dident pay him no mind.
well i sped up a little, got beside the i-roc and nailed it a lil to let em know i wanted to play[8D]
(havent raced ANYONE in prob a mth)
I slowed down, he got beside me, and he nailed it a little too.
it was at that point that i noticed something goffy.
i dident hear any exhaust, sounded 100% stock, BUT i could hear his fuel pump over my car, and his[>:]?????
well we slow down for this light, and we both knew what was gonna happen.
i had my driver window down to listen to the car. well i hear the impala on my right rev up(stock exhast

the I-Roc's driver rolls down his window and says "thats a f-ing sick ride! thats such a sweet ride!"
i said my thanks, and told him "you better be ready" with a big grin on my face
i pwr braked my AOD upto 1200rpm, light go's green, and we are off......
my 4.10's get me off the line great, split second of spin from me, and me and the i-roc are dead even...... till i hit 3.5-4krpm.
i start pulling on the i-roc, and im already about 1 car ahead of the impala.
by the end of first gear banging into second with some spin, im 1car on the i-roc, 2-3 on the impala.
banging out of 2nd into 3rd, where i let off, i had 3-5cars on the i-roc, and prob 5-8 on the impala.

1989 5.0 VERT
my car is full bolt on, cai, 70mm TB, EGR, professinal products typhoon intake manafold, upper and lower, stock block, stock heads, stock internals. under drive pullies, stock headers, bbk o/r H pipe, flow's.
4.10's, shift kit, and weld racing drag lite rims.
(some others, but you get the idea)

dident talk to the guy, dunno if it had anything, but i know i could hear the fuelpump over my exhaust when i was cruising next to it, so its possible it had a few mod's

the best engine they had in thouse where the 350 TPI 250hp @4400 rpm and 345lb·ft @3200 rpm
i dont know the curb weight, but that pwr number is pretty impressive

prob stock, as i blew this thing out of the water
highest pwr output was the supercharged version that only put out 240hp
curb weight is just about 3400lbs.
pretty easy 2-4-1 kill
but it was fun, and i havent had any kills for a while.

Iroc's stopped production for Chevrolet in 1990. After that the Iroc name was put on the Dodge Daytona.
Judging by how you hung with him I'd say it was the 350. I had a 305 IrocZ years ago, and it was pretty slow. Regular 6cyl taurus's were able to hang with my 305 [&o]
Some Iroc's also had the LT1 vette engine (my brother had that version). He said that stang's would take him off the line, but by 3rd he'd make up the distance and start passing them.

The Impala had no chance. My wife has an 08, and although it has more power than the year you're talking about, it definitely couldn't hang with a stang by any means......Unless it's the new SS. Then it would be a drivers race with an edge going to the stang (referring to New Edges).

Ah........reminds me of the good old days. Good kill........nothing I enjoy more than a Ford beating Chevy story. Those 4.10 gears are murder on a DD, though.....I had 3.73s on my AOD vert, even though I had another car. I sold her last August\\; ran into some financial issues and blah-blah. yea, thats why i posted it, same era cars, chevy vs ford, \\; and i took em down with just bolt on's, and gears.
the 4.10s arnt that bad, the car isent my dd, my motorcycle is, but im a sissy for rainy wheather, so i drive the car when it looks like rain.
43mpg beats the hell out of 16! at 60-65mph im at 2k rpm, so its not to bad
what the hell is going on with everyones posts? or am i the only one seeing it[>:]
