Went to the Track
Ok went to the track yesterday in my 2003 mustang gt. It was my first time at the track racing my car. My upgrades are just a JLT CAI, short shifter, off road x-pipe,and i got 275BFG's in back. The best run I came up with was a 15.1, I know the car should do better than that, I had bad reaction times and spun pretty bad some times. I just want some advice so I can run faster.
ok, this is the place to be. first off your reaction time doesnt effect your overall time.
give me some very descriptive details on how you staged, your rpm's shift points and that kinda thing so i can help you more.

get out and push that thing... jk I am assuming you are stick?Leave on the last yellow (that will help your reaction time not your ET) Need more information what is your 60 ft are you manual or auto?

From the looks of it, you're just dumping the clutch? Don't. Quickly slip it at 2500 rpm and if it still spins then lower your launch RPM until you hook. This and practice will drastically drop your 60' times which will lower your ET.
well, here's what i do man....probably diffrent than most will.
1)drive through the box then spin the tires till they dry and roll up to the line
2)get the first stg light to come on
3)bring my rpms up to 4k and hold
4)ease out on the clutch so the second stg light just barely comes on
5)wait for the bulbs do not anticipate the green for you dont even worry about R/T right now it is unimprotant if you cant get consistant times
6)when your comfortable then let out about 1/2 wy on the clutch and ride it until you catch traction
7)let all the way out
8)now powershift (NEVER LIFT YOUR FOOT)
