Got a race tomorrow.....
So I really don't know anything about 4 cylinders but my buddy has hatch w/ a 1.6L w/ a turbo @ 11 psi other than that its bone stock. We are lining them up tomorrow just for fun, i really dont know what to suspect, I just dont see how he can touch me with my 4.10 and D/R from a stop but what do yall think? any input would be appreciated, thx
How far are you guys racing? If the thing is stripped I bet he would pass you after 100 with ease. In the 1/8 and 1/4 mile you should be able to take him off the line and hold him off. From a roll it just depends on how much the hatch weighs.
This is gonna be a street race so 1/4 mile might be pushing it, he did mention he took out the spare tire so I wouldn't call that stripped. I guess I don't have nothing to worry about.

Well if it's a civic hatch with the b16 pushing 11psi with the typical t3/t4you could be in more trouble than you think. If it's just the kit on the car, with out a full exhaust, he's probably making around the 250 whpmark give or take some. With a full 3 inch DP and exhaust expect it to be around the 300 whp and around the 2300lbs mark. The b16 tranny also has the shortest gearing and highest redline of the b series motors IIRC (type R may be the same but I'm not sure) but they make the least torque, which can be a good thing and a bad thing for it since traction will be an issue and he has no suspension mods. Your best advantage is your DRs (at least in my humble opinion.)Get a good launch and you should take him but don't be suprised if he starts pulling hard up top. Good luck.
Those little honda 4 bangers are capable of some pretty good power fairly cheaply. They usually arent very reliable (cheap ones) but thething is if you blow the motor, a new one is like 500 bucks.
Unless we know more info on the motor/turbo I couldnt even give you a guess.
