So i went out cruisin last night. there was a guy in a black GT messin with everyone out there. he finally got on my nerves enough that we left the strip and ran em.


We were door to door, neither of us was puuling on the other untill the top of 2nd when i put a nose on him, then missed 3rd gear (we were out of road anyway)

we pulled into the next gas station on the right, and were talkin.

he says its an 04 GT

mods:

Full exhaust
Shifter
Bored over (didnt say how much)
and new cams.

being bored over and new cams, i would have thought he should have pulled away from me? Think he was BSing or he just couldnt drive?

that sounds like a set of random mods

to not really be pulling in 2nd gear is a pretty short race.. he might have just outlaunched you and hung with you for a bit

 

yea its hard to get a good measure of someones car without being able to run thru a few gears. but thats all we had to work with.

but i would think that if those mods were true, then he would have way better low-en torque than me, and should have pulled away, even just thru 2nd


edit: and i mean his car was loud, but not THAT loud. and it had no "lope" to it at idle. so im sure about the cams.

Do you have an auto? You shoulda walked him...

 

A gt can hang with a Mach thru 1st, especially if he got a better launch than you. I think you should of put more than a nose on him by the time you hit the top of 2nd though. If you would've hit 3rd, there's no doubt inmy mind that you would of started pulling him a lot harder.

 

turd is our gear...woulda been a lot worse.

 

we only went thru one gear. we went from around 35-ish, we were door-door till the top of second, then i missed 3rd, and we ran outta room. I wouldnt have been able to pull in 3rd gear if i HAD shifted correctly, cause there was no more room.


I should have asked if he wanted to hit 581


edit: when i say we left the strip, we drove thru the turn-around-stop-light, where there was 0 traffic, and punched it.

we normally consider anything past the turn arounds, to be leaving the strip.
