Default Raced a 1998 BMW M3

coming home from a night of bowling/the diner, my friends and i decide to toy around at 2:00 A.M (NOBODY IS ON THE ROAD... passed one car the whole stretch of the 5 miles we were on the highway)... my sister's b/f has the M3, and my other friend has an STI that is way outta our league lol. so he watched as i battled the M... we did a bunch of roll races. basically all starting in 3rd gear around 55-75mph... we raced like 5 times and he honked everytime. i was having trouble hearing the horn.. he would jump out ahead by a car and than i couldnt close the gap. but nobody pulled... so the last race, i decide that im going to honk this time because than i know ill be going on time.. so we are both going about 70mph in 3rd. 3 honks, we're both off... neck and neck up to 90. he shifts before me, i hold the gear and shift into 4th. i pull a fender on him... reach up to the top of 4th, i have half a car on him. we both shift into 5th and he pulled but who races that fast anyway?!?! we were going way too fast on public streets but nobody was on the road thank God.

Anyway, they were all good races and we basically have equal cars from a roll. idk how it would be from a dig. it was fun. i think im gunna take it easy for a while

5spd-high flow catted x-borla catback-CAI-Diablosport

thats it... i have a bunch of suspension mods and a short throw but that doesnt do anything for high speed races in terms of going faster lol

I am pretty sure the E36 M3 is 240 bhp and considerably lighter than your car. Good run.

I got a chance to drive an E46 M3 this past weekend (bone stock) and that would flatten a New Edge in a roll race. Stay away from those.

Good run! M3's are nice cars. Anyone know the weight on the E36 M3's? Im kinda curious now because I never thought they were particularly light...

A stock US Spec E36 M3 is nothing to write home about. They handle well, but in a straight line they are slow like a stock 99-04 'Stang (no offense). They don't even trap 100 mph. It's a high 14 second car at best.

The E46 M3 is much better. 333 bhp and they trap 105-107. The car felt glued to the road and the interior was gorgeous. My biggest bitch with them is that they are hard to mod. They come from the factory tuned to the max. But for a sport sedan, you can't beat them.
